Genesis of the NEW Forum
In January 1996 a group of budding writers from Guwahati sat down to work out a platform through which they could interact with one another in their attempt at creative writing in English...
and the North East Writers Forum was born.
Today we are 12 years old and the journey continues
Over the years, the Forum organized various seminars and workshops where eminent litterateurs from elsewhere in India and abroad have participated. Prominent among them have been Jayanta Mahapatra, Amit Choudhury, Ron Price (USA), Eddie Harris (USA), James Dokhuma, Geeta Dharmarajan among others.
Members of the NEWF have published several well-received books. These include books by Mamang Dai, Mitra Phukan,Dhruba Hazarika, Temsula Ao,Kynpham Sing Nongkynrih, Robin Ngangom, Easterine Iralu, Dhiren Bezbaruah and Arup Datta....
